There is now an update to iOS 16.4. Here are a few sneaky techniques that, if you're not aware of them, you might not even notice.
Reducing background noise while on the phone (voice isolation)
A feature that "first processes the user's voice and blocks out ambient noise" is known as "Ambient Noise Cancellation" and it first debuted in the candidate version of iOS 16.4 during calls on mobile devices. Apple states this in regards to the functionality, which is currently present in FaceTime that use it when you want to make sure you can clearly hear your own voice during a FaceTime chat while blocking out extraneous sounds.
To use this functionality, a call must be placed or answered. Alternatively, you can open Control Center, select Microphone Mode, and select Block Ambient Noise. When you're on a call in a noisy environment, it will significantly improve your call quality even though it isn't as good as the noise cancellation on the second-generation AirPods Pro.
iOS 16.4 brings back page-turning animations
The page rotation (curl) motion in Apple Books was deleted by Apple in iOS 16 for unknown reason. There is good news for those of you who are upset about this choice. iOS 16.4 has restored the ability to animate. A new Page Turn Animation tab with three choices (Slide, Curl, or None) is now available in Apple Books' settings. Returning your iPhone to the feel of a small book is as simple as selecting the curl option.
Identification of duplicates in the iCloud Shared Photo Library
With the release of iOS 16, a new function can now automatically identify duplicate photographs and choose whether or not to combine them into one. The iCloud Shared Photo Library was not affected by this setting since it only applied to individual libraries. applies to iOS 16.4. Change to Shared Library, then scroll down to the Albums menu and choose Duplicates.
